TORONTO (Dow Jones)--The Canadian dollar ended higher Monday as investors showed a renewed inclination to embrace risk and shun the U.S. dollar, although the Canadian currency retreated from earlier highs after U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke commented on the U.S. dollar in a speech in New York.
